About Surfin' Nautical |
The air temperature is 95
degrees. Water temperature, 80 degrees. Three to four foot waves. Crystal clear
water. White sand beach. A total of three surfers set on their long boards
waiting for the next wave. The perfect day.
Suddenly, a strange noise
is getting louder and louder, slowly pulling me back to reality. It's a
chopper. It's 1968 and I'm 20 years old in Viet Nam at China Beach Army R&R
Center. It's where I learned how to surf. That was the beginning. |

They say once the sand gets between your
toes, once the surfing bug has bit you, there's no turning back. You never
forget the feeling when the power of the ocean lifts you like you're
weightless, sending you on your next adventure as you slide down your wave!
40 years later, I find myself a blessed man. I now share my love for
the ocean and surfing with my wonderful wife, 4 children and 1 grandchild. We
love to surround ourselves with unusual things that remind us of the ocean. But
as I walk through my favorite surf shops, I can't seem to find the types of
things I'm seeking out. That is what this website is all about: making
available unique surfing and nautical merchandise to people who share my love
of surfing and the ocean.
